Founded in 1989, Askey Computer Corp. is a manufacturer specializing in the development of state-of-the-art electronic and network communications products and tools.

How do you see the fleet management market in Taiwan and Asia? What are current trends?
Taiwan has already deployed traffic management systems on highways and urban roads, as well as multi-lane, free-flow electronic toll collection systems on freeways. These advances have created the perfect environment for advances in intelligent transportation, shared transportation and environmental sustainability.
With connected cars expecting to become mainstream in the future, the maturity of 5G and AI technologies has not only enabled V2X communication technology to serve as the basis of communication for the autonomous vehicles, but also to improve reliability and safety of connected cars. With over decades of network communication development, R&D strengths and experience in 5G, Askey is looking to provide global clients with 5G empowered smart solutions across industries.
What are challenges in the market? How can fleet management solutions help?
Common problems that fleet managers face with traditional solutions include the inability to track vehicle location in real time, drivers taking unplanned routes, excessive idling, unauthorized vehicle use, failure of timely delivery and inappropriate driving behaviors.
The biggest challenge to adoption, however, is driver resistance, which can only be overcome by constant communication and positive management attitude.
With advanced fleet management systems, all these problem can be solved all at once. By implementing fleet management systems, 60 percent of the management fee can be saved through lowering labor costs, overtime pay and fuel costs. Fleet managers can even pre-determine maximum driving speeds to prevent drivers from speeding and getting fines.
In addition, the ability to get real-time data through GPS will enable fleet managers to make route adjustments or dispatch new vehicles when there are urgent requests, increasing customer satisfaction while optimizing vehicle usage.
Why should global customers consider Taiwan brands as alternatives to current mainstream brands? What sets your company apart?

Askey believes no product is an island. A product is more than a product. We don’t just focus on creating products that are usable, we also concentrate on enhancing other aspects of the user experience, such as pleasure, efficiency and entertainment.
Combining ID design and technology, Askey is pushing innovation in network communication. With our new product offerings, we aim to provide customers with the best possible internet connectivity while delivering customer-centric solutions in the growing 5G sphere.
What type of products/solutions do you offer the market?
We are currently featuring our Connected Car Cam+, which offers real-time recording and video streaming. With an F/2.0 aperture and 136-degree wide-angle lens, it offers high quality Full HD 1080p video recording that can be used to investigate car accidents like potential causes and surrounding circumstances. An optional additional camera can be used to monitor the driver and passengers sitting at the front and/or back of the car.
The camera also features facial recognition and Amazon Alexa-powered voice command control for hands-free operation while driving. Our vehicle fleet dispatch optimization system can help fleet operators reduce operating costs, increase fleet dispatching efficiency and introduce new services.
Another featured product is Askey’s smart digital vehicle recorder, which includes a TCU / V2X OBU module with a built-in 5G antenna to ensure high reliability when vehicles move at high speeds. This product makes up for ADAS technology limitations, enhancing environment sensing capabilities and vehicle detection range for better safety.
Who are your target customers?
We aim to connect with global industry players from logistics and insurance companies, government agencies as well as telecommunication operators and systems integrators to explore new business opportunities and network communication applications.
